We plan our rides so that they are achievable and challenging for all. You should be able to make it up  and down the passes at your own pace. Our support vehicles will make stops on the Cols and generally re-convene the group at the tops of Cols. If it’s cold, we’ll have a coffee waiting for you.

That said, riding in the mountains is a challenge that should not be underestimated. To get the most out of the trip we can provide training plans and guidance. As a starting point we recommend that you ride at least a couple of times a week and perhaps enjoy a longer weekend ride up to 3 or 4 hours in length. (We have a weekly Sunday morning ride leaving the shop at 8am, – we would encourage you to join us!!) The support vehicle will be there to take the strain if if you need to rest.

All tours will run with a mimum of one support rider and one vehicle and driver. The ratio will be at least 1 team member per 5 guests.

Our support rider will ride between the back and the front the group to ensure no one is dropped or lost.

The support vehicles will provide water, fruits, nuts and snacks. We can also carry your own preferred energy products. We fill a thermos for coffee should the weather turn foul and we’ll transport your day bag for you to carry spare clothing and extra layers. Naturally we have a spare bike, spare wheels, track pump, spare parts, first aid kit and a full toolkit onboard too. We do ask that you to carry your own ride spares, as you would any normal ride. eg. innertubes, pump and levers.

Typically, we’ll brief riders at the bottom of a Col and regroup at the top, making stops for water top ups where it’s safe to do so.

The route each day will include options for lunch and coffee stops, as well as a simple picnic provided by us to keep you going.

Great bike friendly and secure hotel accommodation will be provided in the village of Tignes (Hotel Les Melezes).. The costs are based on twin shared rooms but single rooms can arranged at extra cost in advance.

Travel to France by minivan via Eurotunnel
